Job Description
Senior Pastor First Baptist Church Valdosta | Valdosta, Georgia First Baptist Church Valdosta is seeking a Senior Pastor to faithfully lead, feed, and shepherd our congregation in accordance with Scripture. About Our Church FBC Valdosta is a Southern Baptist congregation located in the heart of South Georgia. We hold Traditional (8:30am) and Contemporary (10:30am) worship services and are deeply committed to biblical teaching, discipleship, and community impact. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and hold to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message. Biblical Qualifications The candidate must meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, including: Godly character and integrity Spiritual maturity and humility Faithfulness in family leadership Doctrinal soundness and commitment to Scripture Adherence to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message Proven ability to teach and lead Primary Responsibilities Preach and teach the Word of God with clarity and application Shepherd the congregation with genuine care and spiritual oversight Lead and equip staff and lay leaders for ministry Guide the church in fulfilling its mission through prayer and vision Foster unity across generations and worship styles Ideal Candidate Communicates Scripture clearly and applies it to daily life Leads with humility, conviction, and clarity Is present and engaged with the congregation Provides steady leadership suited to a church in a season of transition Values both biblical foundation and forward movement About Valdosta Valdosta is a community of around 60,000 in Lowndes County, Georgia, situated between Atlanta and Jacksonville. The cost of living is low, the pace of life is unhurried, and the church is deeply woven into the fabric of the city. The Florida state line is less than 15 miles away.
