Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an individual who will work cooperatively with parents, equip a leadership team, and empower middle school and high school students to relationally make disciples who make disciples. Through solid biblical teaching, leadership training, and opportunities to serve in the church and community, we seek to provide an environment for the students to be with each other and the Lord set apart from what the world offers. Over the last several years our church has fostered a healthy relationship with the public schools across the street that has provided open doors and ministry opportunities. We are looking for someone who can continue to build these relationships while sharing the gospel. Primary Responsibilities Lead the High School and Middle School ministries with the goal of making disciples of Jesus who will make disciples of Jesus. Prepare, teach, and equip others to teach solid Biblical lessons for all youth ministry programs Equip and engage youth leaders and parents alike to be disciple-makers. Relationally walk with the students and parents of Westchester helping them experience and extend God s love. Communicating clearly and in a timely fashion. Manage your time (40+ hours a week) well to best equip others and multiply yourself, including time outside of office hours such as going to students sporting events or meeting students or leaders for meals. Oversee with integrity the youth ministry budget. Occasionally share the preaching responsibility. Work in unity with the pastoral staff to model a cohesive team. Coordinate and lead youth trips, service opportunities, fundraising events, and mission trips. Create ministry goals and plan for attaining them. Build on the relationship the church has with the schools across the street and parachurch ministries in hopes of reaching students in the name of Jesus. Create opportunities for the youth to be involved in the Church body and vice versa. Participate in other duties as needed. Qualifications A lifestyle that clearly points to a calling to ministry, specifically mentoring youth and leading them to a deeper relationship with Christ. Bachelor's degree required (ministry, theology, leadership, or organizational leadership preferred); Master's degree preferred. A teachable and humble heart. A proven history of caring for and mentoring others while leading them to faith in Christ.
