Position Overview The Senior Pastor is a mature man who will serve as the spiritual shepherd, teacher, and community presence for a congregation of approximately 50 members that values Scripture, prayer, missions, and traditional worship. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a rural setting, enjoys building personal connections, and feels called to guide a small but faithful congregation. Key Responsibilities Preaching & Teaching Prepare and deliver weekly Christ-centered sermons rooted in Scripture. Lead Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship opportunities. Support children's and youth teaching as needed. Pastoral Care Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and biblical counseling. Visit members in homes, hospitals, and care facilities. Walk with families through weddings, funerals, and life transitions. Worship Leadership Plan and lead traditional worship services. Coordinate with musicians, volunteers, and lay leaders. Encourage meaningful, reverent worship that reflects our values. Community Engagement Build relationships with Fillmore residents and local organizations. Maintain a positive presence in town life. Support community missions such as the Blessings Box and county outreach. Administration & Leadership Work with church boards, elders, or committees to guide church vision. Oversee church communication, planning, and basic administrative tasks. Encourage volunteer participation and develop lay leadership. Spiritual Vision & Growth Help the congregation discern and pursue God's direction. Promote spiritual formation, missions involvement, and community service. Foster unity, hope, and encouragement within the church family. Qualifications A mature man with a clear calling to pastoral ministry. Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach Scripture faithfully. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience in small church or rural ministry is helpful but not required. Formal theological training preferred; equivalent ministry experience considered. Personal Qualities Approachable, compassionate, and patient. Comfortable in a rural community. Willing to invest deeply in relationships. Flexible, humble, and ready to serve in various roles. A shepherd's heart for people of all ages.
