This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to build upon a rich tradition of excellence in the performing arts while inspiring students to develop their musical talents, leadership skills, creativity, and Catholic values. The successful candidate will be passionate about music education, committed to artistic excellence, and eager to work collaboratively with faculty, students, parents, and the greater school community. Primary Responsibilities Show Choir Serve as the director of the school's competitive show choir program. Select music, choreography, costumes, and thematic concepts for annual productions. Plan and conduct rehearsals before, during, and after school. Coordinate performances, competitions, clinics, travel, and fundraising. Recruit and retain student participation. Collaborate with choreographers, accompanists, and technical staff. Choral Music Teach high school choir courses. Prepare students for concerts, liturgies, school events, and community performances. Develop vocal technique, music literacy, and ensemble skills. Assist with music selection for school liturgies and special events. Theater Teach school beginning theater Support musical productions through vocal direction, rehearsal assistance, or production responsibilities as assigned. Collaborate with the Theater Director in developing quality performing arts experiences. Assist with auditions, rehearsals, performances, and student leadership development. Computer Science Instruct sections of computer science. Additional Responsibilities Support the Catholic mission of Bishop Luers High School. Serve as a positive role model for students. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities. Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, alumni, and community supporters. Assist with recruitment activities for the performing arts department. Help cultivate a culture of excellence, service, and collaboration. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Choral Music, Music Performance, Music Theater, or a related field master's degree preferred. Appropriate Indiana teaching license or ability to obtain licensure. Experience directing competitive show choirs preferred. Strong vocal pedagogy and conducting skills. Piano proficiency preferred. Experience in musical theater production. Working knowledge of music technology, sound systems, and digital media. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education. Preferred Qualifications Experience with choreography or working alongside choreographers. Experience managing budgets and fundraising. Knowledge of sound reinforcement and stage technology. Ability to recruit and grow performing arts programs. Experience working collaboratively within a comprehensive performing arts department.
