Job Description
Job SummaryWe are seeking a passionate and energetic Student (Youth) Minister to inspire and guide young people within our faith community. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to foster spiritual growth, provide mentorship, and create engaging programs tailored to youth. As a vital part of our ministry team, you will develop meaningful relationships with young individuals, support their emotional and spiritual needs, and lead initiatives that promote positive development aligned with our Christian values. Your leadership will help shape the next generation and strengthen our community's faith journey. The student minister has a calling and giftedness of God to lead and teach the Scriptures with primary respect to that of the youth group (students in grades 6-12). As a leader in the church, they must be full of the Spirit, and seek to live a holy and faithful life in Christ. The student minister is responsible to the Senior Pastor for coordinating and promoting church programming and planning and conducting a comprehensive Biblical teaching plan for the youth (grades 6-12). They are also responsible to the local church body through the church Personnel Committee for employment requirements and responsibilities. Responsibilities Lead and oversee all aspects of the Youth Ministry (grades 6-12), including Bible study, discipleship, outreach, and fellowship. Plan and teach weekly youth programs (Sundays and Wednesdays) and participate in regular church services. Organize key events such as camps, mission trips, retreats, and quarterly activities. Provide spiritual leadership and care for students while engaging and supporting their families. Collaborate with church leadership and participate in church-wide ministries and events. Manage ministry resources, including budget, volunteers, and materials. Attend staff and church meetings, providing regular updates on youth ministry. Support outreach efforts and perform additional duties as needed. Requirements Committed to biblical Christian principles in alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. College degree required; seminary training preferred but not required. Strong communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to teach and lead effectively. Proven leadership, organizational, and administrative abilities. Basic proficiency in common computer programs (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Physically able to perform ministry responsibilities. Must pass required background checks.
