DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Staff Chaplain p rovides spiritual care to patients, families, staff, and physicians through both routine and crisis ministry. As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Chaplain supports holistic healing by offering compassionate presence during times of illness, grief, and death
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
(Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Experienced Chaplain with strong interfaith commitment.
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in divinity, Theology, Spirituality, or related field required; Master's preferred. Clinical Pastoral Education training minimum of two CPE units required; four units preferred .
License, Certification & Registration:
Certification College of Chaplains or NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains) or National Association of Jewish Chaplains or other recognized endorsing bodies preferred.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated pastoral care experience skills in parish, healthcare, or other settings required. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team and physicians. Strong communication skills - verbal and written. Competence in computer use for charting in the medical record and statistics. Ability to represent the Spiritual Care Department to the wider community. Respectful of diverse faith and spiritual perspectives.
