We are looking for an inspiring preacher, thoughtful spiritual leader, and collaborative administrator who is passionate about ministry, outreach, pastoral care, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will bring strong Biblical teaching, meaningful worship leadership, and the organizational abilities necessary to guide a healthy and active church community. Candidates with experience in Lutheran ministry, particularly within traditions similar to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), are encouraged to apply, though qualified candidates from compatible Christian backgrounds will also be considered. Recent seminary graduates with exceptional leadership potential are welcome to apply.
Primary Responsibilities:
Worship & Spiritual Leadership Prepare and deliver engaging, Biblically grounded sermons Lead weekly worship services Lead seasonal celebrations and weddings, funerals, and baptisms when necessary Foster spiritual growth across all age groups Work collaboratively with church musicians, worship leaders, and ministry volunteers Pastoral Care Provide compassionate pastoral counseling and visitation Support congregation members during times of illness, grief, and personal need Build meaningful relationships within the church and local community Church Administration Oversee day-to-day church operations and administrative functions Collaborate with church council, ministry leaders, and committees Help manage budgets, planning, communication, and organizational development Encourage volunteer participation and leadership development Community Outreach & Growth Develop programs that strengthen community involvement and church outreach Support youth, family, and adult faith formation initiatives Promote a welcoming and inclusive church environment Qualifications Seminary degree (MDiv or equivalent) preferred Ordination or eligibility within a Lutheran, Episcopal, or compatible Christian tradition preferred Understanding of Lutheran theology and worship practices, including similarities to ELCA traditions, is highly desirable Strong preaching, communication, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and organizational abilities Ability to work collaboratively with diverse church members and leadership teams Prior pastoral experience preferred, but not required for exceptional candidates or recent graduates Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be: Spiritually grounded and compassionate A gifted and engaging preacher Organized and dependable Community-oriented and approachable Visionary in helping guide church growth and congregational vitality Salary & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with a comprehensive benefits package including: Health insurance Retirement/pension contributions Paid vacation and continuing education leave Housing/parsonage allowance (if applicable) Professional development support How to Apply Interested candidates should submit: Resume or curriculum vitae Cover letter describing ministry philosophy and experience References Sermon links or recordings
