Job Description

Position Summary The Young Adults and Youth Minister serves the congregation by providing spiritual leadership in discipleship, relational ministry, and faith formation among young adults, middle school students, and high school students. This role seeks to glorify God by helping people become fully devoted followers of Christ through biblical teaching, mentoring relationships, intentional discipleship, and active involvement in the life of the church. The minister will work to cultivate authentic Christian community, equip emerging leaders, and create environments where young adults and students can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and live missionally. Primary Areas of Responsibility Worship Ministry The minister will: Lead and oversee the spiritual formation and discipleship of young adults Build a welcoming and Christ-centered young adult ministry focused on connection, community, and spiritual growth Develop environments that encourage authentic relationships, mentorship, and biblical accountability Organize and lead Bible studies, small groups, gatherings, retreats, service opportunities, and discipleship events Equip young adults to grow in spiritual maturity, leadership, and active participation in the church Foster outreach opportunities that engage young adults both within the church and the surrounding community Identify, train, and support volunteers and emerging leaders within the ministry Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and guidance to young adults navigating life transitions, faith questions, and spiritual development Encourage a culture of discipleship that helps young adults follow Jesus relationally and missionally Youth Ministry The minister will: Lead and oversee the spiritual formation of middle and high school students Teach biblically grounded lessons that encourage faith and discipleship Build meaningful relationships with students and families Organize classes, devotionals, service projects, and events Equip students to grow in spiritual maturity and church involvement Provide pastoral care, guidance, and encouragement to young people Create opportunities for students to serve within the church
Shared Ministry Responsibilities:
The minister will also: Model Christian character, humility, and servant leadership Participate in the broader life of the congregation Collaborate with elders, ministers, and ministry leaders Support church-wide teaching, outreach, fellowship, and discipleship efforts Maintain healthy communication with young adults, students, parents, and volunteers Desired Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to biblical teaching and Christian living Ability to teach and connect effectively with young adults and students Passion for discipleship, relational ministry, and leadership development Strong relational, organizational, leadership, and communication skills Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers and ministry teams Willingness to work collaboratively with church leadership Formal ministry training or relevant ministry experience preferred, but not required Musical ability is a plus (instrument/voice) Character & Calling We seek an individual who: Displays a deep love for Christ and His church Leads with humility, integrity, and spiritual maturity Values Scripture as the foundation for ministry Possesses a shepherding heart for people, especially students Encourages unity, participation, and spiritual growth Compensation & Support Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the nature of the position. $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
