Job Description

SCOPE OF POSITION
This full-time Children s Ministry Director is responsible for all aspects of spiritual growth and development of children ranging in age from infants through fifth grade.

  • Able to manage workflows and details associated with Kid s Ministry and special events

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and Direct all Cornerstone Kids ministry environments including: Sunday Nursery (Infant - 5 yrs old) Sunday Elementary (K-5th) Wednesday night Kingdom Seekers (Infant-5th) Kids Buddy Program (special needs ministry)
  • Function as both a director of children s ministry and the face of the ministry to kids and parents
  • Collaborate with the Discipleship Pastor and Leadership Team to plan and facilitate special events
  • Provide leadership to the Kid s Ministry Coordinators and volunteers via staff development
  • Partner with Ministry Coordinators to evaluate the structure & design of program components and provide optimal programming for children
  • Analyze, propose and implement a healthy and effective children s ministry and family events (VBS, camps, and outreach events)
  • Discover ways to partner with Cornerstone Christian School s programming & families
  • Recruit, hire, train & direct all Kid s Ministry positions from coordinators to volunteers
  • Equip parents to be involved in the spiritual formation of their child
  • Build a family culture that is continually attracting new kids and families
  • Provide oversight to part-time children s ministry coordinators
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Weekly check-ins and monthly meetings with children s ministry coordinators
  • Oversee entire operational process for children ministry (approve staff hours and development)
  • Develop a strategic plan in alignment with the overall church mission, vision, and core values
  • Develop current staff allowing them to grow in their God-given potential
  • Regularly communicate with parents
  • Manage budget and plan events one year in advance
Compensation:

Experience in Children s Ministry leadership may replace educational requirements
