Associate Pastor

The candidate being sought as Associate Pastor will be tasked with assisting the Lead Pastor and Elders in various ways. The position will be primarily focused on outreach and secondary youth.

Duties may include the following:

Outreach:

Coordinate and oversee the outreach ministry. Development of outreach strategy. Demonstrate passion to reach the lost. Train and mobilize lay people to personal and corporate witness and develop sense of recognition of opportunities for both.

Christian Education:

Coordinate and oversee existing ministries such as Sunday programs, with assitance from the Superintendent; Awana, with assistance from Ministry Directors; Youth Group, with assistance from volunteer staff and other ministries as needed.

Pastoral:

Assist the Lead Pastor with visitation; teaching and preaching and possibly funerals and weddings.

Small Group:

Coordinate and oversee the small group ministry to encourage existing groups; promote growth in this area.

Administrative expectations:

Cooperate with other ministry groups; will be a part of the Elder and full board with monthly meetings; directly responsible to the Lead Pastor; and provide a written Annual report to the congregation summarizing activities.

Required Qualifications:

Possess the qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9; male (preferrably married); be in agreement with the statement of faith and policies as found on the website; demonstrates humility, but has the ability to be assertive and lead; demonstrates a cooperative spirit.

Desired Qualifications:

Previous experience in similar ministry roles; Bachelors degree in a ministry related field of study; willingness to pursue a post graduate degree in a ministry related field of study.
