Position Overview West Lansing Church of Christ is seeking a passionate and gifted Part-Time Worship Minister to lead and oversee the music portion of our Sunday (Contemporary) worship services. This role is approximately 25 hours per week and is ideal for someone who loves leading others in worship, building teams, and creating meaningful, Christ-centered worship experiences. At West, we offer two identical Sunday services that follow a modern style of worship music . The Worship Minister will work closely with the Lead Pastor and worship team to plan and lead engaging, Spirit-led services. Principal Function The Worship Minister will collaborate with the Lead Pastor to develop creative, meaningful, and theologically grounded worship experiences that help our congregation connect with God and grow in their faith. Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate music for weekly worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor Lead Sunday worship services and weekly rehearsals Work closely with current worship team members to foster unity, excellence, and spiritual growth Recruit, develop, and train new worship team members Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Lead Pastor and church staff Attend regular staff meetings Oversee worship ministry resources, including: Music library Instruments and equipment Prepare and manage the annual worship ministry budget in coordination with the Stewardship Committee Utilize ProPresenter (or be willing to learn quickly) for service preparation and presentation Participate in ongoing development opportunities (workshops, seminars, training) as appropriate Qualifications & Skills A growing and active personal relationship with Jesus Christ A heart for worship ministry and leading others in authentic worship Musical proficiency (vocal and/or instrumental leadership required) Experience leading worship in a church setting preferred Ability to lead and develop teams with encouragement and clarity Strong organizational and communication skills Familiarity with ProPresenter or willingness to learn Alignment with the mission, vision, and values of West Lansing Church of Christ Time Commitment Approximately 25 hours per week , including: Sunday morning services Weekly rehearsals Planning and preparation time Staff meetings What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is not only musically talented, but who also: Leads with humility and authenticity Values teamwork and discipleship Has a vision for growing a healthy, vibrant worship ministry Creates an environment where people feel welcomed and encouraged to engage in worship Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
