Job Description

TITLE:
Youth Ministry Leader
RESPONSIBLE TO
Family Life Pastor
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
: Elders, Leadership Council, Children's Ministry, Office Staff, Youth Leaders, and Ministry Leaders
TIME COMMITMENT
Part-Time (15-20 hrs weekly)
SCOPE OF POSITION
Oversee and/or administer, develop, and implement ministries and programs designed to meet the spiritual, social, and emotional needs of middle school, and high school students.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Plan, prepare, and lead at least one weekly, age-appropriate gathering for both Middle School and High School students. Build intentional relationships with students and actively connect with their families. Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteer leaders to serve as small-group leaders and support youth events. Oversee clear and consistent communication between LakePoint Youth and parents/families. Equip, train, and empower High School students to serve and mentor Middle School students. Develop, coordinate, and lead youth retreats for both Middle and High students. Create and pursue service opportunities within LakePoint and the local community, helping students discover and use their spiritual gifts while practicing compassion. Collaborate with other church ministries to involve students in serving roles such as greeting, prayer ministry, video/media, and children's ministry. Pursue ongoing training and development through conferences, multimedia resources, and research, while identifying and tracking youth culture and ministry trends. Provide and promote opportunities for community outreach and global missions engagement.
