Bloomington, Minnesota Position Type:

Part-Time (32+ hours per week) including Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoons and evenings required.

Pastor About Our Church Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church is a welcoming congregation committed to worship, discipleship, community outreach, and spiritual growth. We seek a passionate and skilled Director of Children's Ministries Director to lead outreach and develop our children's ministry in a manner that attracts new families, supports the mission of the church and enhances congregational growth. Position Summary The Children's Ministry Director provides leadership for the church's children's programs to create welcoming and meaningful family experiences consistent with the traditions and values of The United Methodist Church. Essential Responsibilities Plan, promote, and support work with families and children from birth to 5th grade. Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Create and maintain weekly children's programming during the school year, with the focus on worship, learning, service, and fellowship. Includes overseeing Wednesday night activities and Sunday education. Oversee all aspects of VBS. Provide year-round leadership in children's worship. Collaborate with Director of Youth Ministries, Pastor, and existing church committees that support this programming. Commit to working as a team player with co-workers and volunteers. Engage with families, providing opportunities for parents to connect socially & build community in faith. Commit to a shared vision of outward focus & leading the growth of the children's program. Communicate programs through church bulletins, social media, and other outreach opportunities. Recruit congregational help as needed. Provide documentation of programming outcomes. Attend and actively participate in church staff meetings.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

College experience preferred but not required. Experience leading children's activities required Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a working knowledge of social media Pass a background check. Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. Background Check Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and compliance with the church's Safe Sanctuary policies.
