Job Description

Buffalo Covenant Church is seeking a passionate and relational Director of Youth and Family Ministry to lead and grow a thriving ministry that serves approximately 150 middle and high school students. This key leadership role partners with parents, equips volunteers, and invests in students as they grow in their faith and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. The ideal candidate is a spiritually mature leader with a heart for the next generation, a gift for building authentic relationships, and a proven ability to develop teams, disciple students, and create engaging environments where young people can encounter Christ and deepen their faith. JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Youth and Family Ministry will partner with parents in the discipleship of the next generation, focusing on families that have students from grades 6-12 (approximately 150 students). He or she will also champion this ministry as part of the larger mission of
Buffalo Covenant Church:
to glorify God by being disciples who make disciples of Jesus Christ.
QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual and emotional maturity, with an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Commitment to prayer and sensitivity to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Interpersonal skills that include the ability to develop and sustain meaningful student connections, gain trust and respect, and mediate differences, combined with a spirit of humility marked by teachability and servanthood and high personal integrity. Experience with volunteer management, including recruitment, training and coaching. Possess training, education, and experience to effectively lead and work well with teams. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to listen well and connect authentically. Demonstrated vocational effectiveness in family ministry. Strengths in leadership, encouragement, teaching, and relationship building. Complete support of Buffalo Covenant Church s doctrinal statements: Statement of Faith Mission Statement and Core Values Resolution on Sexuality and Marriage
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their teens by providing resources and experiences that equip and encourage their role as primary spiritual caregivers. Challenge, equip and encourage youth to deepen and grow their faith in Jesus Christ. Develop, implement and evaluate the church s ministry to middle school and high school students; including but not limited to these existing ministries: Regularly scheduled large group gatherings for middle school and high school students Discipleship model that incorporates extensive biblical studies Leadership training program utilizing high school students to disciple middle school students Off-site overnight camps, retreats and mission trips Recruit, train, and coach volunteers to assist in the discipleship of youth. Develop and implement strategies to encourage and nurture youth from non-Christian homes. Provide counseling with the ability to discern and communicate constructive next steps. Seek new ways to be more effective in reaching and discipling youth and their families. Create and manage the Youth and Family Ministry budget.
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Executive Director while serving under the authority of the Lead Pastor. Leads Youth and Family ministry staff. Active member of the Church Council. Partner with parents and volunteers to invest in students.
COMPENSATION
This is full-time position with an annual salary range of $65,000-$85,000 and benefits.
