Position Description:
CYF and Small Group Ministries Church:
St. Barnabas Lutheran Church (Plymouth, MN)
Reports To:

Salaried exempt 24-32 hours/week Pay range: $41K- $45K depending on experience

Schedule flexibility with regular Sunday mornings and evening/weekend programming Position Summary This CYF and Small Group Ministries Leader champions lifelong faith formation by creating and facilitating age-specific and intergenerational programming. Working collaboratively with the church staff, this role builds a cohesive, connected community by bridging faith-building opportunities, education, retreats, and activities across all generations.
Essential Functions:
Congregational Ministry & Programming Children, Youth, and Family:
Design, organize, and implement both age-specific and family-wide activities, fellowship events, and retreats.
Christian Education:
Oversee and implement engaging Christian education opportunities for all age groups.
Small Group Ministry:
Organize and equip small groups—including men's, women's, and intergenerational groups—to foster a deep sense of belonging within the congregation.
Worship Leadership:
Participate actively in weekend worship services and community-wide ministries.
Home Faith Formation:
Equip, resource, and empower families to actively practice and nurture faith formation within their homes.
Community Connections:
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with external community groups that utilize the church facilities.
Essential Functions:
Administration & Communication Milestone Ministry:
Organize and celebrate key milestone events, including births, baptisms, first communions, school milestones, graduations, and anniversaries.
Communications & PR:
Publicize ministry initiatives and distribute resources
Team Collaboration:
Partner closely with the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Team to ensure aligned programming.
Staff & Governance Participation:
Attend regular staff meetings, submit monthly written activity reports to the Church Council, and attend Council meetings as requested.
Professional Development:
Attend relevant continuing education events to stay current on the latest youth, family, and intergenerational ministry practices. Minimum Qualifications A Heart for
Ministry:
A deep passion and love for working with all ages.
Faith Alignment:
Strong Christian background, with a deep understanding of and appreciation for Lutheran theology and traditions.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required; certification in Youth and Family Ministry (or a related field) is highly preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent relational, verbal, and written communication skills utilizingappropriate social media. 5 to 10 years of experience preferred
Pay:
$41,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
