Job Description
Role Overview The Preschool Minister (PM) manifests Jesus's heart to "let the children come" (Mark 10:13-16) and champions the formation of the Church through the channel of the family unit (Deut. 6:4-7; Matt. 22:34-40). The PM builds teams, leaders, and environments to minister to families and kids (birth-pre-K 5th year). The PM must facilitate the mission, vision, values, and strategy of Fondren Church across all Preschool Environments. Areas of Responsibility & Essential Duties 1. Ensure the Excellence of all Preschool Ministry Programming Plan, develop, promote, communicate, and lead regularly scheduled gatherings. Manage a volunteer schedule to ensure adequate staffing each week. Maintain attendance reports and groups in the churchwide database (CCB). 2. Oversee Child Safety Systems Develop, implement, and enforce child safety policies and procedures, including (but not limited to) background checks for all volunteers, awareness training, room inspections, and ongoing security improvements. 3. Develop Leaders and Teams Execute a system of volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training. Build and grow the ministry with a team-based ministry structure and approach. 4. Organize Special Events Schedule, promote, communicate, and coordinate specific events where discipleship can flourish for preschoolers and their families. 5. Equip and Build Relationships with Parents Develop systems of regular meetings and congregational care for parents and families relevant to the ministry. Ensure regular communication with families through digital systems, personal contact, and other appropriate channels to inform, equip, and inspire. Engage unconnected families and develop a system to connect and incorporate them into Fondren Church's span of care. Develop and implement systems to encourage appropriate spiritual next steps for children and families. 6. Evaluate Ministry Effectiveness & Manage Budget Evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ministry and manage the assigned budget.
