Job Description

Youth Director Groce UMC Groce United Methodist Church in Asheville, NC is seeking a part-time Youth Director (10+ hours per week) who will work with, grow, and enrich Groce UMC's youth ministries. This person will be willing to build a strong and healthy relationship with GUMC's youth while teaching and illustrating the life of a Christian.
Special Talents and Skills Preferred:
Demonstrate a strong faith and personal relationship with Jesus Christ and practice that faith. A self-starter with a consistent entrepreneurial spirit. High organization skills. Able to plan, organize, and implement youth meetings, bible studies, confirmation, mission trips, as well as weekend or week retreats for the youth. Has strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Experience in student ministry preferred, but not required
Essential Job Duties:
Willing to commit 10+ hours a week that include monthly staff meetings, weekly youth meetings, as well as planning and preparation for youth ministry programming, and ministry events. Relationally connect with students as a Christian role model. Manage logistics of student ministry trips and events as needed; money collection, reservations, collection of forms, and serve as "point of contact" with parents. Coordinate with the church communications team to update & maintain the youth ministry calendar and website information. Oversee and give input on the planning, development, and direction of the student ministry, both short and long term. Plan, develop, lead, and ensure a comprehensive youth ministry that involves promoting cross-generational activities within GUMC to promote a multi-generational community. Recruit volunteers to assist with youth ministry as needed. Create and foster an environment for the spiritual development and growth of youth. Ensure all youth programs are well-planned. Ensure all youth programs, curriculum, and resources are consistent with the teaching and doctrine of the United Methodist Church. Proactively reach out to all Groce UMC youth. Ensure timely communication with youth and their parents. Model Christian behavior and conduct in all situations and in all relationships. Follow Groce UMC's Safe Sanctuary Procedures and Policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.

Pay:
$12,000.00 per year
