Occ Summary This is a training position, where Certified Educator Student (CES)/Certified Educator Candidate (CEC) will provide and administer pastoral care and counseling and spiritual support for patients, families and staff in a major component of the hospital, and provide individual and group instruction to Year 1 and Year 2 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students. Assist in the coordination of recruitment and admissions of students and curriculum development and program evaluation in our ACPE accredited CPE program. As the position is designed for CPE Certified trainees, generally, it is a three to four-year position with an education contract that requires progress through the ACPE certification process. Progress will be reviewed annually by ACPE Faculty. At the conclusion of the education process, it is expected that CEC will no longer stay in this role and will need to seek employment as Certified Educator or other role. Work Performed Year 1•ACPE Certified Educator Student Provide and administer pastoral care and counseling and spiritual support for patients, families and staff in a major component of the hospital. Work on Competencies and ACPE Certification Admission process.

They will engage with CEC peers at least twice a month for ongoing educational growth and development opportunities. Year 2•Certified Educator Candidate•Phase 1 After the student officially is admitted into the
ACPE CEC
process, the Candidate will continue to provide spiritual support for patients, families, and staff in a component of the hospital. They will increase their time in individual and group instruction to Chaplain interns and residents. They will continue to engage with CEC peers at least twice a month for ongoing educational growth and development opportunities. They will also assist in the coordination of recruitment and admissions of students and engage in curriculum development and program evaluation of the ACPE accredited program ofClinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Year 3•Certified Educator Candidate•Phase II In addition to the duties described in the ACPE Certified Phase 1, perform the following: Coordinate all aspects of recruitment/admissions or curriculum development/program evaluation for all accredited levels of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education. Participate in Accreditation opportunities and engage in ACPE life. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skills in crisis intervention. Ability to provide pastoral care and spiritual support in a high stress environment. Skills in pastoral research and spiritual assessment. Knowledge in pastoral theology and behavioral sciences. Knowledge of group dynamics and skill in group leadership. Physically capable of sustained work in high stress environment. Level Characteristics N/A Minimum Qualifications Education Master's in Divinity or its equivalent. Successful Completion of 4 unitsof
ACPE CPE.
Additional graduate level work in a related field preferred. Experience One year in pastoral ministry, in church or institution or chaplaincy and the completion of 4 units of
ACPE CPE.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Eligibility for 'Board Certified Chaplain' by the Association of Professional Chaplains.
