Job Description

THE FORMATION PASTOR
furthers Corinth s mission by leading the spiritual growth and formation of the congregation by creating pathways, practices, and environments that nurture Christlike maturity. This role focuses on developing a culture of transformation through spiritual disciplines, community, theological depth, and intentional discipleship.
QUALIFICATIONS
Agreement with our church s faith expressed in Article IV of the church constitution and a demonstrated commitment to high standards of Christian living and service to God Master of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary Ministerial standing or eligibility for standing in the Western NC Association of the UCC At least 5 years of experience in church ministry, or other relevant fields Passion for growth, transformation, and development of the church body Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking, and a proven ability to lead teams Ability to function as a team member under the direction of the
Senior Pastor DUTIES:
Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for spiritual formation across all age ranges (birth through seniors) Build and oversee clear discipleship pathways for all stages of spiritual growth (new believers to mature disciples) Provide leadership and oversight to Adult Ministries, including the recruitment, training, and evaluation of leaders Mentor emerging leaders and volunteers in spiritual maturity and servant leadership Foster a culture of authenticity, vulnerability, and grace in all ministry contexts Provide pastoral care, support and encouragement to individuals and families, as needed Assist in planning and leading Sunday morning worship and other special services, including serving on the preaching team For the right candidate, we offer a competitive compensation package including salary/housing allowance, health insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, a retirement plan, continuing education and more.
