As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, the Chaplain delivers interfaith pastoral care services that support the emotional and spiritual well-being of individuals during times of illness, crisis, and healing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff members Deliver interfaith prayer, counseling, and pastoral care services appropriate to individual beliefs and needs Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team Support patients and families during crisis situations, end-of-life care, and major life events Communicate ethical and religious directives related to Catholic healthcare services when appropriate Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times Promote compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care Collaborate with clinical staff to support holistic patient care initiatives Respond professionally and compassionately to diverse spiritual and emotional needs within the hospital environment Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Theology or related field 1-3 years of related pastoral care or chaplaincy experience Strong communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills Ability to lead and coordinate interfaith prayer and spiritual support services Preferred Master's degree with specialization in Theology Certification through an accredited Clinical Pastoral Education or pastoral care agency within 3 years Work Environment & Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking, and listening throughout the workday Occasional lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds Exposure to hospital environments including potential contact with blood or bodily fluids Requires emotional resilience, compassion, and professionalism in sensitive patient care situations
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
