JOB IN A SENTENCE

In partnership with the pastoral team and ministry directors, the Student Pastor leads a dynamic team of adults and students who are personally committed to mobilizing teenagers in making disciples and equipping the church for gospel-advancing ministry.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Desire to work in student ministry as a way to serve God and advance His kingdom. Point middle and high school students to Jesus as Savior in age-appropriate ways and equip parents and leaders to do the same. Value and promote "Gospel Advancing" ministry values, equipping students to fall in love with Jesus and share that hope with the world. Balance discipleship and outreach programs for both student-only and family-included settings. Engage opportunities to serve and be present in the local schools. Manage Student Ministry calendar and budget. Communicate regularly with and encourage students and families outside of church. Recruit and train new Student Ministry volunteers. Oversee Bible Fellowship (small group) curriculum and weekly student worship gatherings. Schedule and lead a regular meeting with student ministry leaders. Plan and support student ministry special events (Summer camp, Winter retreats, Dare2, Outreach events, Citywide events), including print and social media promotion. Serve as the "point person" for the Student Ministry and advocate for student ministry activities throughout the church family.

QUALIFICATIONS

Has an active and growing relationship with God through Christ Strong Christian character and work ethic Maintain a vibrant faith and love relationship with Christ through personal Bible study, prayer, service, and other spiritual disciplines Lead by example in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ in our community and making disciples who make disciples to the ends of the earth Relate well with students, parents, volunteers and church ministry staff team Participate as an active member of the FBC family Possess high energy drive, charismatic leadership and strong organizational skills Participate in staff meetings; communicate openly and honestly about needs, problems, ideas for improvement, and handle conflict in a Christ-like manner Work efficiently in the office environment where computer skills and digital record keeping is required 3+ years' experience in student ministry and/or management of student programs required Four-year college degree, some seminary and/or Bible training preferred
