Pastoral Associate for Parish Services - Christ Our Light Catholic Church

Administration Functions/Responsibilities:
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Ensures smooth operation of parish office under the supervision of Pastoral Associate for Administration
  • Collaborate with Parish Commissions in developing and implementing the mission. Administrative Responsibilities
  • Impart the Catholic faith in everyday life through contact with public both by telephone, in person, and through electronic media.
Constitutive Liturgical Roles Preparation of worship aids for parish funerals, weddings and other liturgical services including appropriate collateral material. Scheduling, coordination, and preparation of Announcements, Prayers of the Faithful, Altar Linens, Shrine of Remembrance, Intention Requests, Children's Bulletins, Liturgy of the Hours as well as others that may be necessary from time to time. Supports parish liturgical services through maintenance of a sufficient inventory of supplies including, but not limited to, Hosts, Candles, Altar Wine, Printed envelopes. Serves as liaison with vendor(s) Attends staff meetings and other committee/commission meetings as appropriate. Prepares weekly bulletin and serves as liaison with bulletin publisher Prepare, update, and distribute parish communications, including the weekly bulletin, flyers, website content, My Parish App announcements, social media posts, electronic communications, and other promotional materials as needed. Make appropriate entries into Sacramental Records Book and issue Sacramental Certificates upon request Maintain and update Food Pantry Database Coordinate and implement parish bulk mailings as needed Remit temporary offertory envelopes as necessary Act in compliance with Diocesan Policies and Procedures Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor, Pastoral Associate for Administration, or their designee.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to multi-task and attention to detail.
  • Pastoral approach to people along the entire age spectrum
  • Possession of a driver's license with a record of safe operation of motor vehicles.
  • Respect for the teachings and traditions of the Roman Catholic faith.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to supervise and work with clerical and volunteer positions.
  • Working knowledge of computer operations and parish office equipment, including demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher) and Canva.
  • Ability to learn and implement Diocesan record keeping requirements
  • Ability to communicate with and offer assistance to parish staff and organizations
Physical Demands:
  • This position required extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to move about in an office setting
  • Ability to travel to bank(s) and various community locations is necessary.
Preferences:
  • Experience in working in a team environment in a moderate to large sized parish or business.

Additional Information:
Pay grade is $18-$24 hourly commensurate with experience.
