Position Summary Grace Episcopal Church, Massapequa, Long Island, NY, is seeking a Youth Leader passionate about Families with children and youth. The person will be working alongside the Rector and various Lay Ministers in advancing God's Ministries. We seek an individual who deeply loves and cares for God's people. Your focus will be on building relationships with young families within our Early Childhood Center. Grace Church's main Ministry is Early Childhood Education, which desperately needs Early Childhood Christian Formation for children ages 3-5. We are also seeking to add an exciting new Youth Program led by the Youth Leader. Key Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Collaboration a) Participate in planning and staff collaboration by attending staff meetings and participating in coordinating ministries. b) Participate in selected Leadership Meetings 3) Family Relationship a) Actively build relationships within our Early Childhood / School Ministry b) Become a presence to the Families in Church and School c) Support the development of a Family worship that is creative and inviting, open to all. Its purpose is to build a new congregation from our Grace Early Childhood Ministry. 4) Christian Formation a) Learn to teach "Godly Play" (training will be provided) b) Create a Youth Group with exciting and age-appropriate events, tasks, and retreats c) Work with the Pastoral Care Team and HOPE small group to provide compassionate, consistent care through visits.

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
