Job Description The Church of the Cross is located at the confluence of Lake George and Lake Champlain in upstate New York. Ticonderoga is entirely located within the Adirondack State Park and nearly one-third of its land area is part of the State Forest Preserve. We are located 1-2 hours from Albany, Plattsburgh, Saratoga and Burlington, VT. A year-round community of approximately 3,466 residents with summer residents increasing the population substantially during the summer and fall months. The Church of the Cross has a strong history in reaching out to the less fortunate - locally, nationally and internationally. The next Rector will find a small, older parish that is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment to worship. We are an involved worship community of traditional believers who care for one another and the community as a family. The Church of the Cross would be a great church for a bi-vocational or retired priest. Our hope is that we will hire a priest who would: Welcome the challenge of helping an older, small parish attract new younger families. Lead us in worship, educate and inspire us with meaningful homilies. Offer a comfortable, welcoming place for all to worship without following strict "high church" practices. Provide pastoral care as needed. Embrace a diverse but loving parish. We are open to establishing a covenant with another local church so we can offer full-time employment.
