Biblical Principles and Expectations:
All employees proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through their employment, and thereby further Malones mission to provide students with an education based on biblical faith in order to develop men and women in intellectual maturity, wisdom, and Christian faith who are committed to serving the Church, community, and world. I. University OverviewMalone strives to provide an education that produces graduates with a love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. Our intent is that students attain the wisdom, knowledge, and skills necessary to serve, engage, and transform the communities in which they live and work. To this end, we provide the curricular and co-curricular context in which to pursue the following educational goals: Understand and critically engage those bodies of knowledge and cultural influences that have shaped the world; Understand the biblical, historical, and theological foundations of the Christian faith; Think critically and creatively and communicate effectively in multiple contexts; Attain expertise in at least one profession or academic discipline and lay the foundation for meaningful work or further studies at the graduate level; and explore the implications of the Christian faith for all areas of living, including intellectual, spiritual, and community pursuits. II. University ExpectationsMaintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus ChristFaithfully upholds Malone in prayerParticipates in community worship as schedule permitsDemonstrates behavior aligned with Malones Mission, Foundational Principles, Doctrinal Statement and its Communitys General PrinciplesEffectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influenceIII. Job SummaryThis position is responsible for leading all aspects of spiritual life within the Malone Community which includes developing the spiritual life of all university students, providing pastoral care, and actively representing the university to churches, ministries and denominational bodies. IV. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks with the President to develop and implement a vision for all Christian formation opportunitiesLeads Community Worship and other designated chapel events, including the selection of speakers and musical guests in partnership with the President Provides an annual assessment of spiritual life at Malone to be delivered to the President, Cabinet, and Board of Trustees with recommendations for alterations as neededServes as Chair of the Spiritual Formation Committee, including calling meetings, developing agendas, and delegating action pointsSupervises assigned Graduate Assistants and Student WorkersAssists the President by serving as the Chief Church Relations Officer for the University, including for example, serving as the main point of connection for churches, ministries, and denominational bodies to MaloneRepresents Malone at ecclesial events throughout the region and beyond Preaches and teaches multiple times per month for different churches, ministries, and Christian schools in the region.Supports admissions activities in regard to spiritual life at Malone, including for example, participation in admission events, Countdown, and Welcome Week activities Creates and provides social media content regarding spiritual life at MaloneOther duties as assigned V. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills.

Education and ExperienceMasters Degree in Theology, Divinity or Pastoral Ministry from an accredited college/university or a significant number of years of pastoral experience Experience working with college studentsWith a Degree, minimum of 5 years in a pastoral role VII. Working Conditions / Physical DemandsWork is typically performed in a conventional office environment Occasional travel may be requiredExtended work hours may be requiredWeekend work is required
