Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Associate Pastor specializing in Youth and Young Adults to join our vibrant faith community. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire, mentor, and lead young people on their spiritual journeys. The Associate Pastor will foster a welcoming environment that encourages spiritual growth, community engagement, and faith-based development among youth and young adults. This position is ideal for a dedicated person committed to nurturing the next generation of believers through innovative programming, compassionate pastoral care, and authentic leadership.
Responsibilities Youth Ministry Leadership:
Design, implement, and oversee engaging programs and activities for middle and high school students. Develop and execute a vision for the youth ministry that aligns with the church's mission and values. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where youth can grow in their faith and build meaningful relationships. Recruit, train, and support volunteers and leaders for youth ministry teams.
Young Adult Ministry Development:
Create and lead programs and events tailored to college students, young professionals, and young families. Promote spiritual growth, fellowship, and service opportunities within the young adult community. Work with Senior Pastor to offer counseling, mentorship, and support to young adults navigating life transitions and faith development.
Community Engagement:
Build strong relationships with local schools, universities, and community organizations to extend the church's reach and impact. Develop outreach strategies and events to engage youth and young adults outside the church walls. Collaborate with other ministry leaders to integrate youth and young adults into the broader life of the church.
Teaching and Preaching:
Prepare and deliver relevant and engaging sermons, Bible studies, and teaching sessions for youth and young adults. Facilitate small groups, discipleship classes, and other educational opportunities. Work with Senior Pastor to provide pastoral care and counseling for individuals and families within the youth and young adult communities.
Administrative Duties:
Manage budget and resources for youth and young adult ministries. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and church leadership. Ensure compliance with church policies and safety procedures. Qualifications Proven experience in youth and young adult ministry, including program development and leadership. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with and mentor diverse groups of youth and young adults. Excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills. A deep and personal commitment to Christ, with a genuine passion for empowering the next generation in their faith journey.

Core Commitments & Attendance Expectations The Associate Pastor - Youth and Young Adults is expected to be present, on time, and prepared for all Sunday morning services , unless previously approved by the Senior Pastor or in the case of emergency or illness. Any absence from a scheduled Sunday ministry responsibility must be communicated as early as possible to the Senior Pastor (and designated leaders), along with a plan for coverage where appropriate. Repeated unexcused or last-minute absences from Sunday services or youth responsibilities will be considered a serious breach of ministerial responsibility and may result in corrective action, up to and including termination. As a visible leader, the Associate Pastor is expected to model faithfulness, dependability, and spiritual leadership , especially in gathered worship and youth ministry environments.
