Worship Ministry Director

Worship Ministry Director Reports to Lead Pastor Part-time Position (20-25 hrs/week) The Worship Ministry Director at Winona Friends Church will be a musically-gifted, spiritually-mature, biblically-grounded Christian to lead all worship ministries at our church under the direction of our Lead Pastor. The ideal candidate has experience leading worship at a similar-sized church and experience shepherding, recruiting, training and encouraging worship teams. Worship teams include all sound technicians, media technicians, video/camera technicians, vocalists, instrumentalists and any drama involvement in the worship experience. Office hours are at the discretion of the Lead Pastor.

Responsibilities :

Work with the Lead Pastor to plan the regular worship services of the corporate body. Lead the musical portion of worship services. Lead all music ministries in the church. Develop a process to regularly identify and prepare volunteers in the church's worship ministry. Shepherd, train, manage, and care for all worship team members, including scheduling of worship team member involvement on a weekly basis. Develop an annual worship ministry budget for approval by both the Elder Board and ratification by the church body and be able to work within that budget. Look for ways to inspire non-musical worship experiences for the church body. Oversee the church's worship tech ministry. Attend church staff meetings and submit updates when unable to attend. Work with youth and children's ministry leaders to find worship leaders for age-graded worship experiences within the church. Oversee the maintenance of all musical instruments, technology and upgrades of equipment owned by the church. On site office hours are to be in agreement with the Lead pastor. Regular staff meetings will be held during those set hours. Other preparation for worship ministry, training, groups, instruction, vision casting and organization may be completed offsite at their home office. This position is based on a 20-25 hour work week, including both on-campus office hours and home-based ministry preparation. Weekly rehearsals for worship preparation on an evening agreed upon by the Lead Pastor and worship team members. Familiarization with and preparation of software for worship service outline and distribution to participants on Sunday mornings prior to worship. Familiarization with and preparation of Proclaim software (or other presentation software chosen with staff) presentation for the worship portion of Sunday morning services. Preparation for worship packets to be distributed to vocal team, band and tech team as needed. Materials may be presented to the part-time office assistant for duplication and assembly. Email, text and other contacts as needed with all vocal team, band and tech teams as needed. Help with special services, as needed. (Weddings, Funerals, etc.)

Skills/ Qualifications :

2 years' experience leading worship in a similar church setting. Significant skill as a vocalist and instrumentalist. Broad knowledge of Christian worship music across multiple styles and generational tastes. Should be proficient in reading music. Should have experience leading and managing teams. Some formal training in music (and specifically church music) is preferred. A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:6-9).
