Job Description

Cove Spring Church is located five miles outside of Troy Ohio. We are a non-denominational church with an average attendance of 114 and a membership of around 150. Our worship services are a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary praise music. To learn more about our church go to www.covespringchurch.com or www.facebook.com/CoveSpringChurch. We are seeking a part-time youth director to minister to the youth and children of Cove Spring Church and the surrounding community. We currently have around 15 children (preschool - 5th grade) and 15 youth (6th -12th). We are expecting this individual to invest 10-15 hours a week at a starting salary of $10,000 - 15,000. We see this as a growing position in the church. As the youth and children's programs grow and more hours are needed there will be a commensurate increase in salary. Youth Director's Responsibilities The leadership of Cove Spring is looking for a self-starter who will take full ownership of the youth ministry using effective strategies and ministry methods for discipling our youth and reaching out to youth in the community. With that in mind, some guidelines for the youth director's responsibilities are below.
  • 1-2 youth meetings a month for youth in grades 6 through 12.
  • 1-2 children's meetings a month for children in preschool through grade 5.
  • Recruit adult and high school age volunteers to work with the children's group.
  • Either lead and organize or recruit a volunteer to lead and organize one special activity each quarter for the children's ministry: Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Fall Party and Children's Christmas program.
  • Attend Church and staff meetings, including quarterly church business meetings. Qualifications
  • The Youth Director must evidence a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must have strong spiritual life including prayer and Bible reading. Must have a lifestyle that demonstrates a commitment to Biblical teaching.
  • Ministry education through college coursework, Bible school, or ministry certification is preferred but not required.
