Lead Pastor Hours:
Full-Time (35-40 hours/week; exact hours to be determined based on staffing needs). We desire a consistent on-site presence Monday-Thursday, as well as 2-3 hours on Sunday mornings to be available to the church for questions, to follow up with first-time and returning guests, and for meetings and events happening between services.
Pay:
$22-25 per hour based on experience and agreed-upon hours. Benefits include holiday, vacation, and sick pay.
Required Attendance:
Weekly Staff Meeting, Monthly Ministry Leadership Team Meeting, Sunday morning services, occasional staff retreats, and flexibility for evening and weekend ministry meetings and events.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Church Administrator provides leadership and oversight for the church's day-to-day administrative operations, communications strategy, ministry support systems, and organizational effectiveness. This role serves as a central hub connecting staff, volunteers, ministry leaders, and the congregation through clear communication, efficient systems, and healthy organizational practices. The ideal candidate combines strong administrative and organizational skills with effective communication abilities and a passion for helping people connect more deeply with Jesus and His Church.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Spiritual & Personal Qualifications The Church Administrator is to embody both spiritual maturity and professional excellence. This role is not merely a job but a calling to serve the Lord and His church with integrity, joy, and diligence. Has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and actively pursues a growing relationship with Him. Views this position as a ministry opportunity to grow in faith and serve the body of Christ. Begins each workday with 5-10 minutes of stillness before the Lord (Psalm 46:10), seeking His presence, wisdom, and guidance. Regularly prays for the church, its leadership, ministries, and responsibilities entrusted to them. Fully agrees with and supports the church's statement of faith, vision, mission, and core values. Believes the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for faith and daily living. Demonstrates Christ-like character in speech, attitude, and morality as defined by the Bible (1 Timothy 4:12; Colossians 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 2:10, 4:3-8). Exhibits a joyful, positive, enthusiastic, servant-hearted, and collaborative spirit. Maintains confidentiality, humility, and professionalism in all interactions. Committed to personal growth, self-awareness, and continuous improvement. Professional Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of experience in administration, communications, nonprofit leadership, or related fields. Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to anticipate needs. Skilled at managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing circumstances. Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff, volunteers, elders, and ministry leaders. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Planning Center, Breeze, Canva, social media platforms, and email communication tools. Experience with website management, graphic design, video production, or digital communications is preferred. Spanish language ability is helpful but not required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Church Operations & Administration Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the church office. Maintain accurate church records, databases, membership information, and organizational files. Manage and maintain the master church calendar, facility usage schedules, and event planning timelines. Maintain insurance policies, rental agreements, vendor contracts, and related administrative documentation. Oversee office systems, technology needs, phones, copiers, internet services, and related support. Manage incoming communication including office emails, voicemail, mail, and guest inquiries. Manage guest follow-up systems that would include emails, texts, and phone calls. One may delegate other staff and/or volunteers to assist in following up with guests. Ensure church information areas, bulletin boards, and visitor resources are current, welcoming, and aligned with church priorities. Communications Leadership Develop and oversee church-wide communication strategies across all platforms. Coordinate communication between ministry leaders to ensure consistency, clarity, and shared messaging. Write, edit, and distribute newsletters, church-wide emails, announcements, promotional materials, and special communications. Assist in planning, promoting, and coordinating church events and local outreaches. Manage website content and ongoing updates. Manage ongoing updates to our Clear Stream Tap Tags platform. Oversee social media presence including Facebook, Instagram, and future communication platforms. This will include assessing our current digital engagement by offering long & short-term strategies for growing our online engagement in collaboration with staff, especially with our Media Lead. Work with our Production Team on how to leverage our livestream and podcasts to reach new audiences and increase engagement with our current audience across all communication platforms. Create and maintain communication standards, style guides, templates, and branding resources. Design or coordinate the creation of printed and digital communication materials for the church except for slides for our Sunday morning services. Work with leadership to effectively communicate the church's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities. Ministry Support & Leadership Provide administrative and strategic support to ministry leaders. Meet regularly with designated ministry leaders to provide encouragement, accountability, planning support, and alignment with church mission and goals. Assist ministries with annual planning, goal development, budgeting, communication, and implementation. Help connect people to ministries based on their gifts and passions, community groups, volunteer opportunities, and next steps in following Jesus. Ensure ministry activities align with the church's mission, vision, and values. Storytelling & Engagement Identify and communicate stories of life change and ministry impact throughout the church. Gather and share stories through writing, photography, video, interviews, and social media. Help create a culture of connection by ensuring people feel informed, valued, and engaged. Develop communication strategies that celebrate God's work in and through the church. Event & Facility Coordination Coordinate church-wide events and support ministry-specific gatherings. Communicate event logistics and facility plans to staff, volunteers, elders, and ministry leaders. Work closely with Facilities personnel to ensure effective scheduling and event execution. Coordinate Family Camp and other major church events as assigned. Financial & Organizational Support Approve payroll for staff. Sign checks as needed in coordination with established financial procedures. Assist with financial tracking, reporting, and ministry budget management alongside our Treasurer to our staff and ministry leaders. Staff & Volunteer Development Lead weekly staff meetings and promote healthy communication among staff. Recruit, train, equip, and supervise office and communications volunteers. Foster a healthy staff culture alongside the Lead Pastor by encouraging clarity, collaboration, growth, and healthy conflict resolution. Delegate responsibilities appropriately and empower volunteers and ministry leaders to succeed. Plan occasional staff retreats with the Lead Pastor. Special Projects Take on special projects and initiatives assigned by the Lead Pastor and Elders. Assist with strategic planning and organizational improvements that help the church grow in health and effectiveness.
