Job Description

Community Baptist Church in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania is seeking a pastor. Our founding pastor is retiring after 29 years. The church uses the KJV, traditional hymns, averages 35-40 in attendance, is debt-free, and has a good facility. There is a healthy spirit within the church and we are missions minded. Compensation for this position includes a full-time salary with benefits. Our pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church responsible for spiritual leadership adhering to biblical doctrine, pastoral care, and overall administration. Overall responsibility under the guidance of the Holy Spirit is to lead members and attenders to a closer and deeper relationship with God. Devote their time to prayer and the study and ministry of the Word, by teaching and encouraging sound doctrine, shepherding God s flock entrusted to him through reading and preaching, and leading people to the Cross by sharing the salvation message and an invitation to receive Christ to the lost.
Core Responsibilities Preaching and Teaching:
Delivering uncompromising, Bible-based sermons (often expository) to guide the congregation in faith and daily living. Services include Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday Evening, and Mid-Week Prayer Meeting.
Spiritual Leadership and Oversight:
Acting as an elder or overseer to guard the church's doctrine, shepherd the congregation, and maintain personal holiness by devoting time to prayer and the study of the Word.
Evangelism and Soul-Winning:
Leading and organizing efforts to reach the community and win souls for Christ.
Pastoral Care:
Offering counseling, visiting the sick, and comforting the grieving.
Administration:
Overseeing church staff, managing church operations, and working with deacons on financial matters.
Additional Duties:
Administer the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord s Supper, perform the marriage ceremony in accordance with the laws of God and of the state, and conduct funerals.
Qualifications and Requirements Theological Alignment:
Strict adherence to the church Constitution, Mission Statement, Philosophy of Ministry, Philosophy of Music, and The Child Protection Policy.
Ordination:
Ordained by a Fundamental Baptist Church.
Character:
Meeting biblical qualifications (1 Timothy 3:1-6; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Timothy 6:10-12; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; 1 Peter 5:1-3).
Education:
Bible College with a Seminary Degree that will be evaluated along with experience in ministry.
