Job Description
About our Church Church of the Redeemer UCC is a small, creative, and dedicated congregation that has a rich history of music inspired ministry. We are currently looking for a talented musician to continue that tradition and lead our musical ministry forward. Musically, our church is open to new ideas and innovation within our traditional style service, including alternative instrumentation. We currently have a 7-person adult choir. Bell choir possibilities if interested. For additional information about our church check our website: https://www.redeemerchurchucc.org Job responsibilities include the following: Collaborate with the Pastor, Church Secretary, and Music & Worship Committee to plan, select, and present complementary music for all services, both weekly and holiday. Accompany and direct choir for weekly rehearsals and performances (1 or 2 times per month). Play the piano and/or organ for Sunday morning 9:15 worship service, including hymns, preludes, postludes, and other special music as appropriate. Manage the music program's budget, library, and instruments. Our sanctuary features a Hailun baby-grand piano and a Wicks organ with 5 ranks plus carillon, two-manuals with foot pedals. We also have Schulmerich handbells (4-octaves). Requirements Accomplished musician Ability to work with choir members, musicians, and congregation of varying experience and musical skills. Knowledge of diverse musical styles suitable for worship settings.
