Our mission is to spread God's love, serve our community, and make disciples of all ages. The Director of Family Ministries will be instrumental in leading and growing vibrant ministries for children, families, and adults, enhancing their spiritual journey and connection to the church. Pastoral Responsibilities and Job Requirements •
Adult Discipleship Communities:
Help teach adult discipleship communities and provide curriculum suggestions to assist in their studies. Other initiatives could include topic focused classes, book clubs, or other means of Adult Discipleship, training, and teaching. •
Preaching:
Serve as backup/fill-in preacher for the Senior Pastor as needed. A regular preaching/teaching schedule will be developed with the Associate Pastor as well. •
Worship Leadership:
Participate in Sunday worship leadership, including responsibilities such as the Call to Worship, Offering, and Announcements. •
Congregational Care:
Support the Senior Pastor in congregational care, which may include meeting with couples, hospital and home visits, and funerals as needed. Additional Responsibilities and Job Requirements •
Program Development:
Create and implement engaging programs for adults and families that promote spiritual growth and connection to the church community. •
Curriculum Creation:
Develop, teach, and adapt curriculum for families and adults that aligns with the church's beliefs, mission, and theological principles. •
Event Planning:
Participate in planning for events such as VBS, Easter, Christmas and other major events in the church calendar. •
Volunteer Coordination:
Help with volunteer recruitment and training to ensure a supportive and effective environment for church activities and services. •
Sunday Responsibilities:
Attend and actively participate in Sunday services and activities, ensuring a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for families. •
Evening Events:
Be available for some evening events as needed to ensure the successful execution of special programs and activities. This is a part-time, salaried position. The salary will be dependent upon the previous experience and education level of the specific candidate. The salary range is $20k to $30k depending on qualifications and experience. Schedule Requirements •
Mondays:
8:30 AM•2:00 PM (in office) •
Wednesdays:
8:30 AM•2:00 PM (in office) •
Third Wednesday of Each Month:
5:00 PM•7:00 PM (Community Dinner) •
Sundays:
8:00 AM•12:00 PM (on site for Sunday ministry activities) •
Additional Hours:
As required for special events, funerals, weddings, holidays, or other church functions (advance notice will be provided whenever possible). Qualifications •
Education:
High school diploma required. Either a seminary degree or current enrollment in a recognized program with approaching graduation required. •
Faith Commitment:
Must be a mature disciple of Christ committed to living out the values of the Methodist tradition. Must have a working understanding of Methodist/Wesleyan distinctives and methodologies •
Experience:
Previous pastoral experience with a focus on leadership and teaching. •
Event Planning and Volunteer Coordination:
Proven ability to oversee and execute successful events with a focus on volunteer coordination. •
Fluency:
Must be fluent in Microsoft Office products with the ability to learn other applications and platforms as needed •
Budget Management:
