Job Description
Position Summary:
The Chaplain provides spiritual, emotional, and pastoral care to patients, families, and staff, supporting diverse religious and cultural beliefs. Core functions of the role include bedside counseling, crisis intervention, ethical consultation, and facilitating religious rituals, ensuring care aligns with spiritual needs during health crisis.Qualifications:
Education:
Master of Divinity or equivalent required. Minimum 2 Units of Certified Clinical Pastoral Education through a nationally accredited body required. Experience Minimum of one year experience in pastoral ministry, in a church or institution required. Minimum of two years' experience as a clinical chaplain preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration Ordination and Ecclesiastical endorsement or letter of support from the ordaining denomination required.Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Spiritual Care:
Deliver high-acuity spiritual support and crisis intervention for patients, families, and staff across all hospital units. Conduct spiritual assessments and care, while maintaining active communication with all patient care team members. Make referrals as needed with community clergy and faith leaders of diverse faith to provide optimal religious/spiritual care for patients of all faith affiliations.Patient Experience Leadership:
Liaise between clinical staff and families as a key member of the Customer Experience team, ensuring patient rights and spiritual preferences are honored. Serve under the leadership of the Customer Experience Director.Interdisciplinary Integration:
Serve as a core member of the Palliative Care Team, Ethics, and Mental Health Committees, providing spiritual perspectives to complex clinical cases and end-of-life planning.Crisis and Staff Support:
Facilitate critical incident stress interventions and/or psycho-spiritual first aid. Participate with staff support initiatives to enhance staff resiliency.Program Development:
