Discipleship and Family Pastor Full-time Ministry Team Member (salaried)
Position Summary:
The Discipleship and Family Pastor is responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading ministries that help individuals and families grow as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. Discipleship Ministry Leadership Oversee Bible Study Groups with particular emphasis on spiritual growth and outreach. Guide in the selection of appropriate curriculum for each group. Create an assimilation pathway from first-time guest to fully engaged member. Develop special teaching/training classes and seminars to meet relevant needs of members and prospects (i.e. Divorce Recovery, Financial Peace University, grief support groups, etc.) Lead in mission by coordinating, organizing, and mobilizing the congregation toward local and global kingdom work. Develop a church publicity strategy (social media, advertising, etc.). Recruit and train leaders to lead new and current Bible study group and discipleship groups. Family Ministry Leadership Provide vision and leadership for family ministry from childhood through adulthood. Serve as the administrator for the preschool, children, student, and college ministries. Develop resources, classes, and events that strengthen marriages and families. Develop children s worship opportunities and extended session care. Develop safety and hygiene policies that ensure the safety and health of preschoolers, children and students. Recruit, train, and supervise paid childcare workers for church functions. Plan and execute retreats, camps, special events, and service projects across all age groups Pastoral Ministry Attend staff meetings. Participate in preaching and teaching opportunities. Provide pastoral counseling, visitation, and care for church members. Conduct weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties as needed. Support evangelistic outreach and community engagement efforts. Prepare and administer ministry budgets for related areas. Serve as liaison to assigned committees and teams. Work as part of the total staff-team effort in regular ministerial functions and other areas as requested by the Pastor.
Accountability:
The Discipleship and Family Pastor reports directly to the Pastor. This individual will be evaluated by the Pastor, in accordance with the Personnel Policies and Procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master of Divinity or equivalent theological education strongly preferred Experience in pastoral ministry or discipleship leadership Strong preaching and teaching abilities with experience in public speaking Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers effectively Deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to biblical authority Passion for seeing others grow in their faith and spiritual maturity Team-oriented leadership style with ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members Self-starter mentality with strong organizational and project management skills Heart for pastoral care and genuine concern for people's spiritual well-being Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate wisdom in sensitive situations
