Southern Baptist About the Role Lake Bowen Baptist Church is seeking a Worship Pastor who is a catalytic leader, team builder, and passionate worshipper. This role provides vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of the worship ministry, ensuring alignment with LBBC's mission to: Deliver the Gospel. Disciple the believer. Deploy the Christ Follower. The ideal candidate is both musically and spiritually mature, with a heart for the local church and a desire to lead people into meaningful, Christ-centered worship. About Lake Bowen Baptist Church Lake Bowen Baptist Church held its first service at our current campus (404 Sugar Ridge Rd) on March 3, 2002, after relocating from Rock Hill Baptist Church just a few miles away. We live out our faith through four core values: Living a Life of ServiceLiving a Life of WorshipLiving a Life on MissionLiving a Life in Biblical Community Key Responsibilities The Worship Pastor will lead and oversee all aspects of the worship ministry, including: Leadership & Vision Provide clear vision and direction for the worship ministryLead worship regularly in weekend services and special eventsEnsure worship aligns with the theology, mission, and culture of LBBCTeam Development Recruit, train, and shepherd worship ministry volunteersLead and develop musicians, vocalists, and tech team membersOversee auditions and onboarding of new team membersFoster a culture of excellence, unity, and spiritual growthService Planning & Execution Plan and coordinate all worship services and special eventsSchedule worship teams and ensure smooth weekly executionStay current with worship music trends while maintaining theological depthSelect and vet music that supports congregational engagementProduction & Systems Oversee stage design, setup, and overall environmentEnsure quality control of all audio, visual, and technical elementsManage equipment, including maintenance, upgrades, and purchasesSupervise sound and production systems for consistency and excellenceNext Generation Worship Oversee and support worship development in student and children's ministriesCommunication & Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for worship ministry volunteersCollaborate with pastoral staff and ministry leaders for service planningKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of biblical worship theology and its practical application in the local churchProficiency in vocal leadership and at least one instrument (guitar or piano preferred)Working knowledge of modern worship music, arrangements, and trendsAbility to lead both high-energy and intimate worship environmentsExperience with worship planning tools (e.g., Planning Center or similar platforms)Familiarity with audio, visual, and lighting systems and production workflowsStrong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to develop volunteers at all skill levelsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsHigh level of organization and attention to detail in service planning and executionAbility to collaborate across ministries and function well within a staff teamDemonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain volunteersCapacity to handle multiple responsibilities while maintaining excellence and consistencyA heart for pastoral care, discipleship, and spiritual development of team members Eduction and Experience A College level degree or higher with and emphasis on music is preferred3-5 years experience preferable with a church of similar size Why LBBC?
