Job Description

Blue Ridge Community Fellowship is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature and gifted Worship Leader who will lead the congregation into authentic worship while developing a healthy worship culture. This individual will provide musical leadership, recruit and develop volunteers, plan worship experiences, and work closely with the pastoral staff to ensure worship aligns with the vision and mission of the church. The Worship Leader is more than a musician—they are a shepherd, disciple-maker, and leader who helps create an atmosphere where people encounter Jesus Christ. Mission To lead people into meaningful worship experiences that glorify God, inspire spiritual growth, and support the overall mission of Blue Ridge Community Fellowship. Primary Responsibilities Worship Leadership Lead worship during Sunday morning services and designated church events. Plan worship experiences with the Executive Pastor and Pastor of Care & Outreach. Select biblically sound songs aligned with sermon themes, when requested by Senior Pastor. Lead with authenticity, humility, and spiritual maturity. Create an atmosphere of worship rather than performance. Worship Team Development Recruit, audition, train, and mentor worship team members. Build a culture of teamwork, excellence, and spiritual growth. Schedule vocalists and musicians. Develop future worship leaders. Rehearsals Plan and conduct weekly rehearsals. Ensure team members are spiritually and musically prepared. Communicate arrangements in advance. Worship Planning Meet with pastoral leadership to plan services. Coordinate worship for Easter, Christmas, baptisms, communion, conferences, prayer nights, and other special events. Technology & Production Collaborate with the media team on lyrics, audio, livestream, lighting, and worship planning software. Volunteer Leadership Recruit, orient, schedule, encourage, and develop volunteers. Administrative Responsibilities Prepare worship schedules. Maintain organized ministry resources. Communicate weekly with the team. Participate in staff meetings as requested. Spiritual Expectations Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Live consistently with biblical principles. Maintain a lifestyle of prayer and devotion. Support the vision and leadership of Blue Ridge Community Fellowship. Exhibit humility, integrity, teachability, and servant leadership. Be an active participant in the life of the church. Qualifications Personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Experience leading worship. Strong vocal ability. Ability to lead a congregation confidently. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred:
Piano or guitar proficiency, Planning Center, ProPresenter, audio knowledge, and prior church leadership experience.
