Job Description
Zion Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, family-oriented Southern Baptist congregation in Brownsville, TN. Our rural church, located 5 miles off I-40 between Memphis and Jackson, has a long history of serving Haywood County for almost 200 years. We are a growing multigenerational congregation with members from several surrounding West Tennessee counties who are passionate about worship, discipleship, and sharing the hope of Jesus in our community and beyond. We are prayerfully seeking a Pastor who will equip and shepherd our congregation with humility, biblical faithfulness, and relational leadership as we continue growing together in Christ. Our Vision To know Christ deeply, love one another genuinely, and reach our community and world with the Gospel. What We Are Looking For Zion Baptist desires a pastor who is: Spiritually Grounded Demonstrates a deep personal walk with Christ through prayer and Bible study Leads by example in personal discipleship and encourages others to grow spiritually Supports and promotes a strong prayer ministry within the church Values worship through music and encourages a Christ-centered worship service Relational and Caring Builds authentic relationships with church members of all ages Provides pastoral care, including visiting the sick, counseling in times of need, and supporting families through life's challenges Inspires fellowship and cultivates a sense of belonging within the church A Biblical Leader Handles conflict biblically and fosters unity within the church Maintains confidentiality and earns the trust of the congregation Leads collaboratively, working well with deacons, committees, volunteers, and staff A Christ-Centered Teacher Prepares and delivers engaging, impactful, and applicable Scripture-based sermons and Bible lessons Equips the church to make disciples through teaching and mentorship Keeps Christ at the center of all ministries Mission Minded Encourages outreach and evangelism, inspiring the church to share the Gospel Supports missions locally and globally Preferred Qualifications A strong relationship with Jesus ChristA clear calling to pastoral ministryA strong commitment to the Southern Baptist Faith & MessageSeminary training preferredDemonstrated experience in preaching, teaching, and pastoral care What We Offer A loving, supportive congregationA dedicated team of deacons, committees, volunteers and staffOpportunity to lead a church hungry for growth in discipleship, fellowship, and outreach How to Apply If God is leading you to serve at Zion Baptist Church, please submit a cover letter, resume, statement of faith, and several sample sermons (video preferred) to: zbcpastorsearch2025@gmail.com
