Job Description

Children's Ministry Director Reports to: NexGen Pastor Job Function The Children's Ministry Director provides vision, leadership, and oversight for the Children's Ministry, ensuring that its philosophy, direction, and ministry efforts align with ChristWay's mission, values, and strategic objectives. This role serves to lead and strengthen the ministry's overall effectiveness at investing in families and making disciples of Christ. Responsibilities Develop and execute a ministry strategy that disciples children and equips, supports, and partners with parents for the overall discipleship of their family. Create a welcoming atmosphere and experience for children and parents each week during Sunday mornings, Life Group K!DS, and family ministry events. Maintain strong leadership for the children's ministry through effective recruiting, training and retaining strategies with volunteers. Provide leadership, oversight and evaluation for all children's ministry programming and initiatives. Steward ministry resources, curriculum and facilities to support effective discipleship and ministry excellence. Collaborate with other church ministries and staff to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of ChristWay. In partnership with church leadership, develop an annual budget for the children's ministry and operate within the budget each year. Fulfills other responsibilities as instructed by the NexGen Pastor. Qualifications Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating spiritual maturity, integrity, and a lifestyle consistent with biblical teachings. Demonstrates a clear calling and passion for children's ministry and family discipleship. Degree in Education and/or 2-3 years experience in ministry. Experience with large children's ministry preferred (200+ children). Administrative and task oriented. Strong communication skills. Highly organized, able to plan months in advance. Commitment to support ChristWay and CW K!DS and Special Needs Ministry vision. Ability to recruit, develop, and lead teams of volunteers. Exhibits strong relational skills with children, parents, volunteers and staff. Self motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Knows strengths, weaknesses and needs, learns from failures and successes, is capable of accepting responsibility for mistakes and failures, has appropriate sense of humor and demonstrates a good balance between self-confidence and humility.
