8:00 AM-12:00 PMAdditional planning, rehearsal, and on-call responsibilities as assigned by the Lead PastorPosition SummaryThe Worship Leader is responsible for leading the congregation in Christ-centered, biblically faithful worship that prepares hearts to receive the preaching of God's Word. This individual provides leadership, vision, and oversight for the church's music and worship ministries while developing volunteers and cultivating an atmosphere of joyful, God-honoring worship consistent with the mission and vision of Walter Hill Baptist Church. Primary Responsibilities Worship Leadership Serve as the primary worship leader for weekly Sunday worship services. Lead the congregation in authentic, gospel-centered worship that is biblically sound and Christ-exalting. Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan worship services that complement the weekly sermon and overall ministry vision. Select songs that are doctrinally sound, congregationally engaging, and aligned with the church's theological convictions. Ensure worship services are organized, engaging, and free from unnecessary distractions. Worship Ministry Leadership Provide leadership and oversight for all music and worship ministries. Recruit, train, mentor, and disciple musicians, vocalists, and worship leaders. Foster a healthy, unified, servant-hearted worship team culture. Develop future worship leaders and musicians for long-term ministry growth. Encourage spiritual maturity and personal discipleship among worship ministry volunteers. Planning & Administration Schedule musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers for worship services. Provide the complete Order of Service to the worship team no later than Wednesday each week to allow adequate preparation. Communicate regularly with volunteers regarding schedules, song selections, rehearsals, and service expectations. Plan rehearsals that promote musical excellence while maintaining a positive and encouraging environment. Technical Oversight Oversee all worship-related equipment including: Sound system Instruments Computers Projection software Lighting Audio/Visual technology Ensure equipment is maintained, organized, and functioning properly. Work alongside the Audio/Visual team to maintain excellence in production while keeping the focus on worship rather than performance. Budget & Stewardship Develop and oversee the annual Worship Ministry budget. Practice faithful stewardship of church resources. Ensure purchases and expenditures follow established church financial policies.
QualificationsThe Worship Leader should:
Be a growing follower of Jesus Christ with a vibrant personal relationship with Him. Be in agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and mission of Walter Hill Baptist Church. Demonstrate a life of biblical integrity and spiritual maturity. Possess strong vocal ability and competency in leading congregational worship. Have the ability to lead and develop volunteers with humility and encouragement. Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Be teachable, dependable, and committed to continual personal and ministry growth. Be comfortable learning and utilizing current worship technology and ministry software. Ministry ExpectationsThe Worship Leader is expected to: Love Jesus and pursue Him daily. Love the people of Walter Hill Baptist Church. Support and advance the mission, vision, and direction of the church. Model a lifestyle of worship both on and off the platform. Be a disciple who intentionally makes disciples. Maintain healthy relationships characterized by humility, encouragement, and unity. Demonstrate emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual health. Approach ministry with a positive, servant-hearted, solution-oriented attitude. Serve as a trusted ministry partner alongside the Lead Pastor and church leadership. Perform responsibilities with excellence, integrity, and punctuality.
