Full Time Imam Islamic Society of Arlington Texas Arlington, TX Job Details Full-time $4,000 - $7,000 a month 16 hours ago Benefits Housing allowance Qualifications Teamwork Interpersonal skills Program development Arabic English Teaching Full Job Description Imam Position Islamic Society of Arlington Texas (ISAT - Center Masjid) Arlington, Texas Position Summary The Islamic Society of Arlington Texas (ISAT) is seeking a qualified, passionate, and community-oriented Resident Scholar to serve as a spiritual leader, educator, and mentor. The Resident Scholar will play a key role in strengthening the faith of our congregation, with a special emphasis on youth engagement, education, and spiritual development. Key Responsibilities 1. Religious Leadership Teaching Deliver two (2) Khatiras per week (after salah or at designated times). Conduct one ongoing weekly class or program (e.g., Seerah, Aqeedah, Fiqh, Tafsir, Hadith, or relevant contemporary topics). Deliver two (2) Jumu'ah Khutbahs per month at ISAT. Deliver at least one (1) fundraising Khutbah annually at neighboring masjids to support ISAT initiatives. 2. Youth Development & Engagement Organize and coordinate one (1) youth event or one (1) Family/Qur'an Night per month. Actively engage with youth to address contemporary challenges, questions, and struggles related to faith and identity. Provide mentorship and counseling to strengthen Islamic identity and spiritual growth. Build meaningful relationships with young adults and families in the community. 3. Community Engagement Be accessible to the congregation for counseling, guidance, and pastoral care. Engage with families, new Muslims, and community members to foster unity and growth. Support community initiatives and collaborate with board members and volunteers. Represent ISAT professionally in inter-masjid and community programs. 4. Annual Programming Organize and lead a yearly Umrah retreat or Youth Camp focused on spiritual development and community bonding. Qualifications Formal Islamic education from a recognized institution (Alim/Scholar degree or equivalent). Strong knowledge of Qur'an, Sunnah, and Fiqh. Experience delivering Khutbahs and teaching diverse audiences. Strong communication skills in English and Arabic. Strong character, approachability, and commitment to community building. Desired Characteristics Passion for youth mentorship and community development. Ability to apply Islamic scholarship to contemporary challenges in a relevant and relatable manner. Organized, proactive, and self-motivated. Team-oriented and collaborative with masjid leadership. Compensation Competitive and commensurate with experience. Housing allowance or accommodation may be discussed based on qualifications and availability.
