Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator to provide spiritual support, counseling, and bereavement services to patients, families, and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of hospice care principles. This role involves guiding individuals through grief processes, delivering educational presentations, and fostering a supportive environment that respects diverse spiritual needs. Job Duties Offer spiritual counseling and Christian-based support tailored to the individual needs of patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses. Develop and implement comprehensive bereavement programs that include support groups, memorial services, and educational workshops. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management to assist families during critical moments of grief or emotional distress. Conduct public speaking engagements and presentations on topics related to hospice care, grief management, and spiritual well-being within the community. Mentor and train staff members on providing compassionate spiritual care and effective bereavement support. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient-centered care that respects cultural and religious diversity. Manage conflict resolution among families or team members with sensitivity and professionalism. Maintain accurate documentation of counseling sessions, program activities, and community outreach efforts. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Theology, Pastoral Care, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field; clinical pastoral education (CPE) certification preferred. Proven experience in hospice care or end-of-life spiritual support with demonstrated expertise in bereavement counseling. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative environment. Excellent presentation skills with experience in public speaking and community outreach initiatives. Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively engage with diverse populations. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, Christian counseling methods, and conflict management strategies. Ability to plan events such as memorial services or educational workshops that resonate with participants' spiritual needs.
