Job Description

Director of Children's Ministry (Part-Time)First Baptist Church of Hempstead 445 Main Street • Hempstead, TX 77445 First Baptist Church of Hempstead is seeking a passionate and organized follower of Jesus Christ to serve as our Director of Children's Ministry. This part-time position provides leadership and oversight for ministries serving children from birth through 5th grade while partnering with parents and volunteers to help children become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. Position Details Part-Time (12-20 hours per week)
Compensation:
$16,000-$24,000 annually, commensurate with experience Reports to the Lead Pastor Responsibilities Oversee Nursery and Children's Sunday School ministries. Coordinate Wednesday evening ministries including Nursery, Mission Friends, Royal Ambassadors (RAs), and Girls in Action (GAs). Recruit, schedule, train, and encourage ministry volunteers. Plan and coordinate summer activities, play dates, outings, and one annual children's camp. Lead and coordinate annual children's events, including: Easter Play, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Musical, Watermelon Festival Parade, Festival of Lights Christmas Parade Maintain communication with parents and volunteers. Assist with planning, administration, and ministry organization.
Required Weekly Schedule Sunday Mornings:
8:30 AM - 12:30
PM Wednesday Evenings:
5:00 PM - 7:30
PM Weekly Staff Meeting:
Approximately 2 hours (time TBD) Qualifications Growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Believer's baptism by immersion. Ability to affirm and serve in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to recruit and lead volunteers.
