Director of Family Ministry and Communications First United Methodist Church Orange Orange, TX Job Details Part-time From $1,250 a month 4 days ago Qualifications Personal service experience with children Adhering to traffic regulations Performing background checks Teacher-directed learning Passenger van operation Working with youth Full Job Description Job Summary The Director of Family Minister and Communications will be responsible for providing a safe inspirational setting for development, fellowship and outreach for children, youth, young adults and family and provide communications and digital support for routine and seasonal church activities. Requirements 1. Minister is required to pass a background check and maintain Safe Sanctuary Certification. 2. Prefer experience working with children and youth 3. Expected to coordinate schedule accordingly (exceptions can be made for 2-3 Sundays per year) Key Responsibilities 1. Supervise and direct activities for children, young adults and families in the Family Life Center including a devotional or lesson, weekly. 2. Once annually coordinate a Youth Parent meeting to establish the youth activity schedule for the year. 3. Facilitate a Youth-led worship Sunday (one in fall and one in spring) and rehearsals. 4. Assist with Vacation Bible School. 5. Plan and implement fund raising activities to support ministries. 6. Facilitate children, youth and young adult participation with events such as Hot Hearts; Angels and Elves; Summer Camp; Jesus Love Never Melts (Christmas Season Youth Activity); Christmas Candlelight Service; Easter Sunrise Service; Blessing of the Backpacks, etc. 7. Must be comfortable driving the church van for ministry activities outside of the church campus and maintain all legal requirements to drive the van. 8. Participate in worship-planning meetings and relevant staff or ministry-team meetings. 9. Help create worship experiences that encourage meaningful congregational participation Marketing and Communication 1. Develop, print and maintain Church information brochure 2. Design and circulate bi-weekly newsletter 3. Develop bulletins for special services as needed 4. Manage social media 5. Develop proficiency using with church computer and accessories, microphones, receivers; stage and house lights, screen, projector, sound system. 6. Work with or train volunteers to run audio and visual technology.
