Assoc Pastor of Youth Discipleship

Glen Meadows Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and gifted Associate Pastor of Youth Discipleship to join our full-time staff team.

Associate Pastor of Youth Discipleship Reports to: Pastor of Discipleship Ministries Works with: Youth Activities Coordinator, Next-Gen Administrative Assistant, and all Youth Volunteers =================

QUALIFICATIONS

Mature Christian adhering to God's Word Commitment to the purpose, vision, mission and process of GMBC Joyful, flexible, adventurous, and trustworthy with a commitment to personal spiritual growth in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ An example in faith and conduct in relationships & marriage (if married) according to 1 Timothy 3 Display enthusiasm and a willingness to adapt and learn new processes and programs when necessary Strong preaching, teaching, and public speaking ability Possessing strong leadership, team-building, and administrative skills Experience in multi-staff church Active member of a church in good standing

EDUCATION

BA or above in Biblical Studies (or related field) strongly desired =================

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Role in GMBC Ministries Assist the Pastor of Discipleship Ministries in accomplishing the Mission of Glen Meadows, among the youth and families of Glen Meadows Embody the values and discipleship DNA of Glen Meadows (Hungry Learner, Compassionate Witness, Faithful Friend, Confident Cultivator) Responsibilities as Associate Pastor of Youth Discipleship Youth Ministry Discipleship Develop and/or maintain a movement of evangelism, outreach, and disciple making amongst youth, parents, and volunteers Youth

• Train youth in Biblical literacy and transformative practices through designated times of large group teaching, one-on-few discipleship, leader development, and special events Reach the Lost
• Engage in events and activities intentionally designed for evangelizing youth (Mission Trips, School Outreach, D-Nows, etc.) Chase the strays
• Employ church management software to follow up with youth (and/or youth parents) who have not been in attendance at recent gatherings Parents
• Provide resources and educational opportunities for parents, encouraging and supporting them as the primary disciple maker of their middle and high school students Volunteers
• Identify, develop, and coach adult volunteers, equipping them to pour into and disciple youth Facilitate integration of Youth Ministry and church body at large, emphasizing the fact that the youth group is not a church within a church Communication Social Media
• In collaboration with the Communications Department, oversee the Next-Gen Administrative Assistant in creating regular posts according to the current Social Media Plan and reply to messages received in a professional and timely manner (usually within 24 hrs.) Website
• In collaboration with the Communications Department, ensure the accuracy of Youth's webpage and app, making or requesting any necessary adjustments to ensure all information is correct and up to date Printed Material
• In collaboration with the Communications Department, ensure the accuracy of Youth's printed/branded material, updating as necessary Teaching Be willing and able to teach in all Youth environments, from regular weekly gatherings to special events.

Be willing and able to speak in any Children's or Adult Service or Activity (Kids Place, Joy School Chapel, special events, Starting Point, etc.) at the request of the Pastor of Discipleship Ministries. Event Coordinating Aid Youth Activities Coordinator in the planning and execution of events specifically aimed to reach and disciple youth, parents and volunteers Assist in the planning and execution of church-wide events (both special and recurring) at the request of the Pastor of Discipleship Ministries Professional Development Seek out and participate in opportunities to grow professionally (e.g.

• further education, conferences, associations, etc.

) Develop and maintain peer relationship with like-minded churches of smaller, bigger and equal size Office Tasks Use all institutional business tools, including software and current procedures to work in harmony with other departments and members Assist in maintaining the integrity of the church management software by making any updates or corrections as needed Oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the GM Youths's use of the software, running regular audits to ensure the system is being used properly and optimally Request or provide trainings for Youth staff or volunteers as needed.
