Job Description
Family Ministry & Community Outreach Director New Life Christian Reformed Church Spring, Texas New Life Christian Reformed Church is seeking a Family Ministry & Community Outreach Director to help us reach families, children, students, young adults, and new residents in our surrounding community with the hope of the Gospel. This role is not simply program management. It is a ministry and outreach position. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus, has a heart for families, and is excited to build relationships both inside and outside the church. The Family Ministry & Community Outreach Director will lead ministry efforts for children, youth, and young adults while also helping New Life actively connect with nearby neighborhoods, apartment communities, schools, and families moving into the Spring area. This person will work closely with the Creative Communications & Outreach Director so that ministry events, outreach efforts, and stories of life change are planned well and communicated clearly. Responsibilities Recruit, train, schedule, and lead volunteers for children's ministry, youth ministry, and young adult ministry. Build strong, safe, and welcoming ministry environments for children, students, young adults, and families. Plan and support ministry events that help families connect with New Life and take next steps in faith. Develop outreach strategies for surrounding neighborhoods, including large apartment communities opening near the church. Build relationships with local schools from elementary through high school. Help create outreach events, family events, student events, and community connection opportunities. Work with the Creative Communications & Outreach Director to make sure events are promoted well and stories are captured and shared. Partner with parents and volunteers to support discipleship at home and at church. Help guests and new families feel welcomed, connected, and followed up with. Work closely with the Senior Pastor, staff, and ministry leaders to advance the church's mission and vision. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a genuine sense of calling to ministry. A heart for children, students, young adults, parents, and families. Experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteers. Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills. A passion for outreach, evangelism, and community engagement. The ability to plan events, build systems, and follow through with excellence. A servant's heart, collaborative spirit, and desire to help build a growing ministry. Experience in children's ministry, youth ministry, family ministry, education, outreach, or church leadership is preferred. A degree in ministry, education, Christian leadership, family studies, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered. It will help us actively go into the community, build relationships, create meaningful connection points, and invite people into the life of the church. General Expectations The Family Ministry & Community Outreach Director will report to the Senior Pastor, serve as part of the ministry leadership team, participate in the life of the church, support ministry leaders with humility, and comply with all church policies, including Safe Church and Child Protection policies. A background check is required. Weekend and some evening work is expected. Compensation Salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability.
