Job Description

First Baptist Church of Valley View, Texas is seeking a Children's Director to provide spiritual leadership and administrative oversight for ministry serving children birth through 6th grade. This role partners with parents, volunteers, and church leadership to disciple children while ensuring programs are safe, organized, and biblically faithful.
Position:
Full-time or part-time (based on candidate availability and ministry needs).
Salary:
up to $40,000/year (based on experience and role scope).

  • Lead children's ministry with a focus on discipleship, pastoral care, and volunteer development.
  • Plan and oversee Sunday and midweek programming, including curriculum selection and classroom readiness.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers to deliver consistent, high-quality ministry.
  • Communicate and partner with parents/families to support discipleship in the home.
  • Maintain child safety and check-in procedures; lead VBS and key children's events. Reporting Structure
  • Reports to the Senior Pastor (or designated pastoral staff); collaborates with staff and leads children's ministry volunteers. Qualifications
  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with church beliefs.
  • Experience leading or serving in children's ministry (birth-6th grade preferred).
  • Ability to lead teams and manage details (planning, scheduling, communication, and supplies).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; background check required.
Time Commitment & Compensation Compensation:
Up to $40,000/year (based on experience and role scope); full-time or part-time (based on candidate availability and ministry needs).
