Community Healthcare of Texas has cared for patients with serious and terminal illnesses throughout North Central Texas. Providing compassionate care for those living with an illness while supporting those caring for a loved one is the mission of Community Healthcare of Texas.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Spiritual Care Coordinator provides spiritual and emotional support for patients, families, and staff; assists in connecting families with avenues of spiritual support and provides ongoing bereavement care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess patient/family with spiritual care needs; participate in the plan of care Provide spiritual and emotional support according to the plan of care Participate in on-call rotation and various schedules/duties as assigned or needed Document visits/phone calls according to Policy Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings Provide aftercare and bereavement support in cooperation with the Bereavement Coordinator Provide spiritual and emotional support for staff
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies required. (Will consider substituting a non-religious studies bachelor's degree plus 10+ years of direct spiritual care experience for a Religious Studies degree) Strongly prefer a Master's degree with or working on Clinical Pastoral Education units Grief counseling experience preferred Hospice experience strongly preferred Must be proficient in using a computer Must have excellent listening skills Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
