A Religious Leader or Professional leads religious services and provides spiritual guidance or counseling. Presents knowledge and interpretation of theological texts. May work in a non-denominational setting like a prison or hospital, or work for specific faith-based congregation or denomination and follow the practices of that faith.
Position Summary Southwest Community Church is prayerfully seeking a gifted, called, and theologically grounded Kids Director to lead and shepherd our ministries from birth through fifth grade. As our church grows and prepares to move into a new facility, we are looking for a full-time leader who can provide vision, care, and direction for our Kids Ministry.
Primary Responsibilities Lead Kids Ministry:
Provide leadership for the SWCC Kids Ministry, including Sunday morning environments, special events, VBS, and discipleship opportunities for children and families.
Cast and Implement Vision:
Assist in developing, casting, and executing a clear vision for our Kids Ministry that aligns with SWCC's mission and values.
Equip Leaders and Parents:
Recruit, train, and retain volunteers while building strong partnerships with parents, equipping them as the primary disciple-makers in their homes.
Create Healthy Ministry Environments:
Cultivate safe, welcoming, and engaging spaces where children feel known, loved, and encouraged to grow in their faith.
Clear Communication:
Maintain clear and consistent communication with volunteers and families through email, social media, website updates, and printed materials.
Ministry Stewardship:
Oversee ministry logistics including supplies, resources, inventory, budgets, calendars, and all Kids Ministry events and activities.
Event and Childcare Coordination:
Organize and provide childcare support for churchwide events and programs, as needed.
Churchwide Partnership:
Partner with pastors and staff, attend staff meetings as appropriate, and support the overall mission and ministry of SWCC. Qualifications & Character Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, a consistent Christian walk, and a heart for discipleship. Firm alignment with SBC theology (must affirm Baptist Faith and Message 2000) and SWCC's mission, vision, and leadership philosophy. Ability to communicate and navigate conflict with wisdom and care. Ability to build teams, develop leaders, and care well for people. Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple ministry areas. Willingness to become a member of SWCC upon hire or within an agreed-upon timeframe. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree, required. 3-5+ years of ministry experience in a church setting or other child-related position, preferred.
