Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Family Pastor/Director who is responsible for shepherding, developing, and leading a Next Generation ministry that encompasses children, youth, and young adults. Equally important is an outward-facing posture: actively pursuing relationships with unchurched families and young people in our community to connect them to the life and mission of the church. This is not simply a program coordinator role. It is a pastoral calling — to know families by name, walk with young people through formative seasons of life, and extend the reach of our church into schools, neighborhoods, and the broader community where the next generation lives.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Shepherd relationships with children, students, and families inside and outside the church Engage with unchurched families and young people in the community through schools, events, and local organizations Serve as a caring first contact for families in difficult seasons Oversee Sunday discipleship gatherings, curriculum, and a safe, welcoming environment Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers and leaders Equip parents as primary disciplers; foster intergenerational connection Manage Planning Center including a check-in/check-out system for services/events Lead discipleship gatherings for students Recruit, train, and support volunteer adult leaders Develop student leadership and maintain regular family contact Create community and pathways to belonging for ages 18-30 Maintain child safety protocols, background checks, and emergency procedures Manage Next Gen budget and communicate with parents and volunteers Qualifications Genuine, growing relationship with Jesus Christ Clear pastoral calling with a heart for the next generations A gift of hospitality, using the table to build relationships with believers and non-believers alike Demonstrated integrity, humility, and emotional maturity, with a humble and personal prayer life Active participation in the life of the local church Ability to thrive in a season of revitalization — bringing initiative and follow-through to turn dreams and vision into reality Prior experience in children's, youth, or family ministry preferred Education and experience that demonstrates readiness for pastoral ministry Ability to recruit, develop, and retain volunteers Familiarity with ministry technology a plus Strong communication, organizational, and vision-casting skills Self-motivated, able to work independently while remaining accountable to church leadership Flexible schedule including Sundays, some evenings, and occasional weekends
