Job Description
Triangle Baptist Church is a friendly and welcoming church that was founded in 1941. It is a small church that wants to influence our community to know and love Jesus Christ and his saving power. It is located less than one mile from the main gate of Quantico Marine Base at Exit 150 on I-95 (Triangle/Quantico). We have worship service on Sunday morning, Wednesday morning Bible study, and Communion on the first Sunday of each month. Also, services and Communion on Good Friday and Christmas Eve. Part Time Interim Pastor Job Description (20 Hours Weekly) The Part-Time Interim Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation, responsible for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, providing Biblical teaching, equipping the the people for the work of the ministry consistent with Baptist beliefs, and pastoral care of the congregation. They should be a dedicated servant-leader who can inspire spiritual growth, work with church leadership and volunteers, foster a supportive community, and lead the church in its mission and outreach efforts in a part-time framework. Duties and Responsibilities Preach Biblically based sermons on Sundays and plan the worship service. Celebrate Communion once monthly, and on Christmas Eve, and Good Friday. Pray for the church. Oversee church operations and supervise the staff Pastoral care to include hospital visitation of church members. Perform baptisms, officiate at marriages, counsel members, and conduct funerals as time permits. Attend Deacon meetings, Leadership Council meetings, and business meetings. Participate in outreach and church activities as time permits. Represent the church at association meetings and conferences as time permits. Practice financial integrity. Provide sermon topic and scripture to the Administrative Assistant no later than Thursday morning. Plan for filling the pulpit during absences. Education A minimum of an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies or a related field is preferred. Must Be ordained. Prior experience in a pastoral or ministry role is desired and proficiency with basic computer applications and social media.
